‘DIAMOND COUPLE’ DONATE TO HOSPITAL WARD
When Ken and Ann Hoggett celebrated their Diamond Wedding anniversary in December, they asked for donations instead of gifts and received over £500. They wanted to present this to a ward at Doncaster Royal Infirmary that cared for people with heart problems.
Ann is disabled and was unable to attend the presentation. Instead, her son-in-law, Paul Sheppard, came. Pictured at the presentation are (from left to right) Paul Sheppard; Rosie Winterton MP; Ken Hoggett; John Waszak, Charge Nurse, Ward 25; and Lesley Marshall, Acting Matron.
Ken asked local MP, Rosie Winterton, to attend as she had helped him with a request to the Queen for a message for their 60th anniversary - and had previously helped him apply for a Veterans’ Badge and with a visit to Normandy where he served in the armed forces during the Second World War.
