Len Duvall AM, Labour London Assembly Member for Greenwich & Lewisham has welcomed news that Transport for London is consulting on a direct bus link between Greenwich and Blackheath Village.
Len Duvall AM said: “I have been contacted by many residents who have difficulty getting from Greenwich to Blackheath or have the inconvenience of changing buses for what is a relatively short journey. It is great news that London Buses are finally planning on providing this direct link between Greenwich Town centre and Blackheath Village.
Our local MP Nick Raynsford and I have worked really hard to get this link covered, so I am really pleased that it looks like it has finally paid off.
Nick Raynsford MP for Greenwich and Woolwich said: “The new service would restore the link between East Greenwich and Blackheath Village following the re-routeing of the 108. It will also provide a service between the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Blackheath Village and improve links to Greenwich rail and DLR Station. These are significant improvements which I warmly welcome.”
Transport for London are currently consulting on extending the 386 bus from Greenwich Town Centre to Blackheath Village via Greenwich High Road (for Greenwich Station), Greenwich South Street, Blackheath Hill, Shooters Hill Road, Goffers Road, Tranquil Vale and Royal Parade.
Consultation runs until 29 September 2006 any comments can be sent to Len Duvall at GLA, City Hall, Queen’s Walk, London SE1 2AA or len.duvall@london.gov.uk who will pass them to London Buses.
