Support a new Riversdale Footbridge – Connect2

Voting is now open on the Big Lottery Fund’s: The People’s £50 million contest.

The Connect2 is one of four projects competing on ITV1 Big Lottery Fund’s: The People’s £50 million contest. The Connect2 project involves 79 schemes which will improve every day journeys for 6 million people. A new Riversdale Bridge in Northwich is part of this exciting project.

Mike Hall MP said:

“I want everyone to vote for the Connect2 project. If this project wins, an new iconic swing bridge over the Weaver Navigation will replace the old Riversdale Footbridge. This will re-open the footpath and cycle network across the Weaver Navigation. Local residents will once again be able to walk or cycle to local schools and colleges.

The new Riversdale Bridge is central to Connect2’s plans to create a direct, off-road network of paths as an alternative to the busy and congested roads of Northwich. It will once again connect up the footpaths and cycle ways across the town. People will again be able to walk and cycle without having to cross any main roads.

Safe routes to and from schools will be reopened.

The new Riversdale Bridge will be a great asset to the community.

I congratulate the Weaver Vale project and Sustrans Connect2 for the fantastic job they have done in bringing forward the new Riversdale Bridge scheme.

I strongly urge everyone to vote for the Connect2 bid.
