Mike Hall MP welcomes the move by Central and East Cheshire PCT to provide a new community hospital and in-patient unit for Northwich
Mike Hall said:-
“For sometime now there has been concern about the future of the Victoria Infirmary Northwich and in particular the retention of in-patient beds.
“Central and East Cheshire Primary Care Trust has been looking at how they can improve primary care facilities alongside improving access for diagnostic and out-patient services and in-patient community bed based services.
“The decision to provide a new purpose built community hospital with an in-patient unit in Northwich is great news for the town.
“A town the size of Northwich needs its own hospital. The proposal by Central and East Cheshire PCT means we will get a state of the art brand new community hospital. This will bring improved primary care facilities and better out-patient services to Northwich. The new in-patient unit will be a much needed addition to NHS facilities in the town for assessment, rehabilitation and management of chronic conditions.
“I am very pleased about this move and very much welcome the decision to have a new community hospital and in-patient bed unit in Northwich.
“I congratulate all the people involved in the campaign especially the members of SONIC, who have done a great job on behalf of Northwich residents”.
