WINDMILL HILL ACCESS CENTRE

Mike Hall MP and Arthur Cole strongly welcome the opening of the Windmill Hill Access Centre at 416 Eastwood.

Local residents can call in at the centre and see a Nurse Practitioner without an appointment. If you have minor ailments such as a cough or cold, minor injuries like a sprain or bruising, a sting or a bite, rash or skin complaint, need your blood pressure checking, a wound that needs dressing or stitches removed - just call in and be seen to.

The nurses can also prescribe medication subject to assessment and clinical need. If you want to stop smoking join the smoking cessation clinic.

The Access Centre is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. You do not need an appointment just come along if you want to see the Nurse Practitioner.

We want everyone on Windmill Hill to know about the Access Centre and the excellent work the nurses do there. This is a real improvement in health care facilities on Windmill Hill. The more people use the Access Centre the stronger the case is for having a full Health Centre on Windmill Hill.

Mike Hall MP and Arthur Cole are calling on Halton and St Helens Primary Care Trust to build on the success of the Windmill Hill Access Centre and provide full GP services for the residents of Windmill Hill.

Mike Hall has been a long term campaigner to get better primary health care for the people of Windmill Hill. He has raised this very important matter several times on the floor of the House of Commons.

Some local residents will remember when Dr O’Connor left Windmill Hill - Mike Hall campaigned successfully to get GP services back on the estate.

More recently when the Murdishaw and Castlefields Doctors stopped their GP surgeries on the estate Mike Hall once again took up the challenge and got the Primary Care Trust to provide the Access Centre.

Mike Hall has now been joined by Arthur Cole in calling for the provision of full GP services once again on Windmill Hill.

Every Windmill Hill resident should have the right to first class, state of the art GP services in their own community. The Halton and St Helens Primary Care Trust now has the opportunity to provide a new GP Practice on the Windmill estate and Mike and Arthur are pressing them to do so.
