Mike Hall MP welcomes Launch of Community Spaces Funding Programme

Mike Hall MP, for Weaver Vale has given a big welcome to the news that
Groundwork UK has launched the £50 million Community Spaces open grants programme. Groundwork UK is managing the programme on behalf of a national consortium of environmental organisations, the funds coming from the Big Lottery Fund’s Changing Spaces initiative.

Mike Hall said,

“This is a great scheme and I hope community groups will bid for the funds when they are planning projects to make their neighbourhoods cleaner and green. The money will help local people to work together to improve and create play areas, community gardens, wildlife areas, ponds, courts and village greens.”

The programme will make grants of between £10,000 and £49,999, and some limited grants of up to £450,000, to community groups that want to create and improve public spaces in their neighbourhoods.
