“This work on the next generation light source is exciting, groundbreaking and it is a real boost that it will be carried on at Daresbury.
“The government has committed itself to future investment in computational science, accelerator technologies, detector systems, security and biomedical imaging, technology incubators, and the next generation of light source research all at Daresbury.
“This is a real vote of confidence for everyone at Daresbury and it confirms the Government’s commitment to the campus.”
Derek Twigg MP said:-
“The review of the Daresbury Innovation campus by Sir Tom McKillop to develop the Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus is most welcome. Daresbury has the potential for becoming a major international centre of expertise in science and innovation.
“I am delighted that the Government recognises this potential and is making the commitment and investment necessary to exploit this potential.
“The partnerships built up between Daresbury, Northwest Universities, the North West Development Agency, commerce, business and local authorities are starting to pay dividends.
