Sports Clubs Could Save Thousands – MP Says Don’t Miss Out On Fantastic New Scheme
MP for Clwyd South, Martyn Jones MP is urging all sports clubs across the constituency to reap in the benefits of tax breaks now available to them.
Recent figures have revealed that over 2,000 amateur sports clubs across the UK are now enjoying tax benefits such as relief on business rates and gift aid, but many more could qualify and Mr. Jones is adamant that he doesn’t want a single club to miss out.
“All clubs have to do to reap the rewards of this scheme is to register with the Inland Revenue as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC),” said Mr Jones.
“It’s as simple as that - the club can then benefit from 80 per cent rate relief, exemption from corporation tax on trading income and capital gains tax if they sell off assets. Such savings can amount to an awful lot.
“This fantastic scheme could save clubs thousands of pounds every year and the money saved could be reinvested in new equipment, new facilities and will hopefully help to make the sports clubs in the area all the more competitive. I sincerely hope that every club that is suitable will make the effort to participate.”
