'Say No To Fakes, Frauds And Scams', Says Martyn Jones MP
People from Clwyd South who think they may be the victim of a rogue money-making scheme or fraudulent scam can now get advice online at a new consumer advice service - www.consumerdirect.gov.uk.
The website is being launched at the start of National Consumer Week, October 18th – 22nd.
MARTYN JONES MP said,
"This new consumer advice service seeks to protect some of the most vulnerable residents in Clwyd South who are targeted by rip off artists."
"It gives clear advice on avoiding scams such as: bogus charity collections, internet scams premium rate telephone numbers, Pyramid selling trading schemes and chain letters and will be updated regularly."
"Scams and rip offs can make life a misery, it is an issue that is frequently mentioned to me when I meet people across Clwyd South. Let's do all we can to protect the most vulnerable in our community from the criminals."
"If you have elderly relatives or neighbours, please make sure they are aware of this new information so they can protect themselves from scams and rip offs."
