LUTON'S SPORTS STARS ON PARADE

The wealth of sporting talent in our town was shown once again at the Luton Sports Council's Awards evening held at Putteridge Sports Centre last Saturday. From archery to weightlifting, and from diving to athletics, Luton has a wealth of talent and enthusiasm in every field and at every age.

“From 10-year old divers to 68-year old rugby players, Luton's enthusiasm for sport is obvious”, says Kelvin Hopkins MP for Luton North.

“Once again I was delighted to be invited to the Sports Awards evening and to applaud all those who do so well in a diversity of sports and fly the flag for Luton wherever they go. The wonderful evening began with a sumptuous buffet and was rounded off with a lively disco. Congratulations are due to all those involved, the Luton Sports council for organising the event and especially the hard-working managers, organisers and administrators without which no sport can function”.
