Welcome to Kelvin Hopkins' webpage. I am the Member of the United Kingdom Parliament for Luton North and I was first elected on 1st May 1997. The constituency of Luton North lies about 31 miles north of central London and consists of 8 wards of the Borough of Luton. These are all urban wards with the constituency being surrounded by Luton South and Mid Bedfordshire constituencies. The main employer in the constituency is the Luton and Dunstable Hospital and many constituents work at General Motors and London Luton Airport in Luton South. In 1997, Luton North was won with one of the largest swings to Labour in the country.
