Reaction to Tennis Club Planning Application
Weston-super-Mare MP John Penrose has welcomed the decision of North Somerset Council’s planning committee to approve the planning application from Weston Tennis Club (19th July 2007)
“I am delighted that this application was given such a strong thumbs up. Well done to our local councillors on the planning committee for applying a bit of common sense. I am sure that the club will now continue working with their neighbours to keep them on side.”
Mr Penrose added
“This is great news for the club and great news for sport in Weston. The grant from the Lawn Tennis Association and proposed improvements can now go ahead. It is fantastic that in the run up to the 2012 Olympics, Weston will have its own first class tennis facility in the heart of the town. Who knows, we may even unearth the next Tim Henman or Andy Murray as a result. “
