MP’s to meet Chancellor to discuss Peugeot.
A group of Coventry and Warwickshire MP’s and Trade Union Officials will be meeting with the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt. Hon Gordon Brown. The Chancellor has asked to be briefed on the situation at the Ryton plant, by the trade unions and the MP’s involved and to see what assistance he can provide them.
The meeting has been scheduled for the 26th April, to discuss the situation of Peugeot and the future of the employees. This meeting follows this week’s announcement made by Peugeot that they intend to close their Coventry plant, which will mean some 2,300 jobs will be lost by the end of 2007.
