Jim Cunningham MP To Meet With Royal Mail Boss Over Bishop Street
Jim Cunningham MP (Coventry South) is to meet with Ninian Wilson, Director of Operations to discuss the future of Bishop Street Post Office Monday. Mr Wilson will make the final decision of the future location of Bishop Street sorting office.
Mr Cunningham will be asking Mr Wilson what alternative sites the Royal Mail has looked at.
Mr Cunningham said, “I appreciate that there is a number of difficulties with the Bishop Street sorting office.
“I hope to provide Royal Mail with suggestions for alternative locations within Coventry, keeping the jobs in the city and keeping the service close to the customers”.
Royal Mail is currently proposing to relocate the sorting office to Northampton.
Mr Cunningham continued, “I want to do all I can to save jobs and keep the service in the city that is why I am pushing for an alternative site”.
