Aberavon MP, Dr Hywel Francis, has recently visited Brynhyfryd Primary School to congratulate the school on achieving the 2nd Year Award of the 3 year Healthy Schools Scheme.

The school, led by the School Council and Healthy Schools Coordinator Helen Gough, has succeeded in its bid for grant support for the school fruit tuck shop which was set up and is run by parents.

Dr Francis also congratulated the school on being awarded the Quality Mark, which recognises that the school has achieved and maintained high standards in the basic skill across all Key Stages.

Dr Francis said,

“I was delighted to visit Brynhyfryd Primary School to offer my congratulations on both these great achievements. They are a testament to the hard work of the staff, as well as to the enthusiasm and commitment of the parents who have made such a valuable contribution to the school.”
