MP praises pride in community building.
Aberavon MP, Dr Hywel Francis recently visited the Communities First project in Briton Ferry where he praised the work of community workers and local residents for their work in reviving a local neighbourhood.
Dr Francis said
‘Communities First in Briton Ferry is doing an outstanding job reviving community spirit and providing excellent skills for local residents to seek new jobs. The partnerships with Briton Ferry Town Council and Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council along with other agencies such as the local Job Centre Plus and Shaw Trust have been crucial in building their success.
Dr Francis added,
‘On my recent visit I was delighted to see the way Communities First was rising to the challenge of helping local people to take advantage of the great job opportunities of the nearby Amazon Development. Communities First in Briton Ferry is a model for building community spirit, regeneration and skills development.’
