MP speaks up for North Harrow
Gareth Thomas, Member of Parliament for Harrow West, has asked Harrow’s Road Traffic Committee to support the building of parking bays along Station Road to help people in North Harrow get quick and easy access to the local shops there.
In addition Gareth will be arguing for an extension of the New Harrow Project to North Harrow so that the ‘clean and green’ campaign that has been a success in South Harrow, can be rolled out further.
Since the closure of Safeways local businesses have reported a significant downturn in business.
Gareth said:
“I grew up in North Harrow and live there now and I know the impact the loss of Safeways has had. We need to support local businesses until a new permanent supermarket opens up. Making access to parking better in Station Road will be a significant help. In addition I want to see North Harrow getting the benefits of the extension of the high quality street cleaning which those in South Harrow have benefited from.”
