Eric Joyce, MP for Falkirk West, has welcomed news that parts of his Falkirk West constituency have been chosen to pilot a Government scheme designed to help people who have been off work due to illness, injury or disability to return to work and to keep their jobs.
Preparations are already under way in Falkirk West for the implementation of the Job Retention and Rehabilitation Pilot (JRRP) from April this year.
Speaking today, Eric Joyce MP said
‘Throughout the UK, large numbers of people lose, or risk losing, their jobs due to absence from work because of illness, injury or a disability. A high percentage of these people then remain out of work for several years finding it difficult to return to employment.
I am delighted that this Government are tackling these problems head on and are launching this pilot scheme in Falkirk to test the effectiveness of providing additional support to people who find themselves in these circumstances.
I am confident that there will be constituents of mine who will benefit from additional support to help them return to work and retain their jobs and sure that this pilot and the scheme will prove successful.’
