Falkirk West MP, Eric Joyce, today welcomed news that BP are making a further investment in its operations at Grangemouth which should result in the employment of up to an additional 200 workers.
A substantial number of the current workers and contractors at the BP Grangemouth site are Eric’s constituents and he hopes that the additional jobs created by the reinstatement of the fluidised catalytic cracking unit (FCCU) will mean good news for some of his constituents currently seeking work.
Speaking today, Eric Joyce MP said
‘The news that BP is to re-instate the cracking unit, providing up to 200 temporary jobs during the recommissioning phase, is very positive indeed.
BP must be congratulated on its investment, which augments the good work they are already doing on local economic development in partnership with Scottish Enterprise Forth Valley.’
