Falkirk West MP, Eric Joyce, today added his collection of Xmas Cards to the Tesco Xmas Card Recycling Campaign which is being run in conjunction with the Woodland Trust.
Eric popped in to the Tesco store at the Graham’s Road retail park this morning to show his support and to help publicise the recycling scheme which last year resulted in some 671 tonnes of cards being collected in Tesco stores throughout the UK.
Speaking today, Eric Joyce MP said
‘We all need to think and do more about recycling. I’m glad that I’ve been able to get involved with this campaign right here in Falkirk and hope that I can encourage others to recycle their Xmas cards by helping publicise the facility that Tesco has made available to my constituents.’
TESCO Falkirk Store Manager, Eric Evans, added
‘The scheme is well appreciated and well used by our customers. Last year Tesco stores in the UK collected 34 million cards, enough to stretch from Falkirk to New York. This year we’re aiming to get to New York and back again. It’s great that our local MP is able to help us publicise the campaign and help the environment as well.’
