Edward Davey
A Smörgåsbord Of Education Ideas!
Davey meets Swedish MP to swap thoughts
Edward Davey, Liberal Democrat MP for Kingston and Surbiton, last week met with Swedish MP Ulf Nilsson to swap ideas on education.
Ulf Nilsson, the liberal Folkpartiet spokesperson on education in Sweden, met with Edward Davey, Liberal Democrat education spokesperson, to discuss what could be learnt from each other’s countries.
Edward Davey said,
“It was a very rewarding meeting and I already have several ideas.
“There is an awful lot to be learnt from the education systems in other countries. Many of the issues facing Sweden’s education policy are very similar to ours.
“The Government have been quoting Sweden as an example to back up their policies. The reality is much more complicated when you talk to education experts from Sweden.”
