Edward Davey has Christmas sorted!
Edward Davey, Liberal Democrat MP for Kingston and Surbiton, paid an early morning visit to the Royal Mail delivery office in Surbiton to meet the men and women responsible for ensuring that local residents receive all of this year’s bumper Christmas postbag.
Royal Mail is expecting to deliver around 110 million items every day, and almost 2.1 billion in total over the Christmas period. Edward Davey went along to see for himself how all this extra mail is dealt with, and to speak to local postmen and women.
Edward Davey MP said:
“It is amazing to see at first hand the sheer volume of letters and cards that have to be sorted and delivered at this time of year.
“Our thanks must go to all the postmen and women who work so hard during the Christmas period, and all year round. It’s also worth mentioning that Kingston’s performance on delivery is now one of the best in the country.”
