MP gives Westminster voice to Victim Support Week
Edward Davey, Liberal Democrat MP for Kingston and Surbiton, has called on Parliament to recognise the excellent work of the charity Victim Support UK.
By tabling a Parliamentary motion in Victim Support Week 2006, Edward Davey hopes to draw attention to the work of the charity and the importance of the work they do.
Commenting, Edward Davey MP said,
‘Supporting the fight against crime is a top priority, but it is also vitally important to provide help and support for the victims of crime. This week and the motion I tabled are all about recognising this and also recognising the excellent work of Victim Support UK.
‘The work Victim Support does is absolutely invaluable to the community and to individuals – indeed to anyone who is affected by crime.
‘I tabled this motion to help raise awareness of the great work that Victim Support do, but also to encourage my Parliamentary colleagues to become involved as well. Although crime is a real issue, through collaboration with local organisations we will fight it all the way.’
