‘TRAIN TO GAIN’ EMPLOYER TRAINING SCHEME GETS A CAUTIOUS WELCOME - DAVEY
Commenting on news that the ‘Train to Gain’ Employer Training Scheme will be rolled out nationally, Liberal Democrat Shadow Trade and Industry Secretary, Edward Davey MP said:
“We welcome the much needed support for greater skills training of our workforce. This is vital for the UK to remain competitive and for our workforce to be given greater opportunities.
“However, given the lamentable failure of the previous Individual Learning Accounts and the National Employer Training Programme, we need to know that this new scheme will deliver the benefits intended.
“Previous schemes have failed due to poor quality control and this scheme risks suffering a similar fate.”
