MP’s Christmas Card Competition Winner

Doug with Anna Campbell  The Winning Entry

DOUG NAYSMITH, MP for Bristol North West, went to Charborough Road Primary School in Filton today, to thank the children for entering his annual Christmas Card competition, and to give prizes to the winners.
Dr Naysmith had asked the children to design a Christmas card for him and over a hundred children sent him their drawings and paintings.  He said, “We always enjoy choosing the winning design, but it is hard.  There was a lot of discussion in my office before I chose the one I wanted to send to my friends and colleagues. There were so many attractive pictures and it was clear that a lot of work and thought had gone into them.  In the end, I chose five runners-up, one from each age group, as well as the over all winner.”

The winner was Anna Campbell, who is in Year 5.  Doug said, “Her design combined the ideas of the House of Commons, with a picture of Big Ben, and Christmas, with reindeer and Father Christmas.  I shall be proud to send it out and I hope she will enjoy sending it to her friends too.”

The runners-up were Joanna Slater (Y6), Yasmin Plummer (Y4), Tassia Yarmohammadi (Y3) Domenico (Y2) and Jonathon Morris (Y1).
