David Willetts

Biography

David Willetts is married with two children. He has been MP for Havant since 1992 having previously served in the Treasury and the Number 10 Policy Unit.

David is Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary and Member of Parliament for Havant. He has worked at HM Treasury, the Number 10 Policy Unit, and as Director of Studies at the Centre for Policy Studies. He has written widely on economic and social policy. His book 'Modern Conservatism' was published by Penguin in 1992. He is a Visiting Fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford and a member of the Board of the British Council.

David is married to Sarah Butterfield; an artist who has exhibited in London and New York. David and Sarah are keen swimmers and walk regularly on the South Downs. David has swum for charity against an Olympic hopeful and raised £1500 for charity cycling in the Paris to Hayling ride. They have two children, Imogen, 14 and Matthew, 10.
