Where do I report fly tipping?
Make a note of the type of materials that have been dumped, the date(s), time(s), location(s) and the vehicle details including registration number. If you saw who did it, a description of the person who dumped the materials is also very useful. Report this information to Enfield Council's Envirocrime Department remembering to leave your name and a daytime phone number.
Telephone: 020 8379 1000
Fax: 020 8379 4519
Textphone: 020 8379 4419
E-mail: enviro.crime@enfield.gov.uk
The Council will then allocate your enquiry to a Case Officer who will inspect the dumped materials, collect evidence (photographs, video evidence and observations) and interview any suspects before arranging for removal. If there is enough evidence of illegal activity, the offender(s) will be prosecuted through the criminal courts.
Where do I report cracked pavements and damaged roads
Note the exact location of the damage, the street name and postal district, the nearest house number or name, the extent of damage and the possible cause of damage. If you have witnessed someone causing damage to paving please record the date, time and vehicle registration number. Report these details to Enfield Council.
Telephone: 020 8379 2152/2154
Fax: 020 8379 3475
Textphone: 020 8379 4419
The Council will then inspect the damaged area within 24 hours and raise works orders for repair according to the extent of damage. Priority is given to dangerous damage in accordance with the Highway Maintenance Code of Good Practice.
Rubbish collections and litter
If you are unhappy with the state of the roads after the refuse collectors leave, please report the location to the Council Contact Centre.
Telephone: 020 8379 1000
This can normally be rectified same day if the Council is contacted sufficiently early in the day. The Contact Centre can also advise you on the day of your collection. Refuse should be left for collection at the boundary of your property by 07:00 on the morning of collection.
If you live in a block of flats or where communal bins are provided you can get information on collections from your Housing Office, Housing Association, Management Agent or Landlord.
The Council provides special collection services for bulky items. Up to three items of furniture (beds, wardrobes, tables, chairs and sofas) can be collected free of charge. However, for other bulky items such as televisions, stereos, dishwashers and other household appliances a small charge of £11 for 3 items will be made.
Domestic fridges, fridge-freezers and upright freezers are be collected free of charge.
Garden refuse can be disposed of either by using the kerbside recycling service or by requesting a "special collection". Soil cannot be disposed of in this way.
The Barrowell Recycling Centre in Winchmore Hill is open daily from 08:00 to 16:15.
Where do I report dangerous trees?
For dangerous trees, Enfield Council has an Arboricultural Officer.
Telephone: 020 8379 1000
In response to residents' comments that roads look bare if all trees are pruned at the same time, all regular tree work in the Constituency is done on a rolling programme.
What do I do if I have been unfairly issued with a parking ticket?
If you feel that you have been unfairly issued with a ticket, you should write immediately to the address on the back of the ticket (Parking Enforcement) stating why you feel the ticket was incorrectly issued and providing any proof of this that you may have. On receipt of the letter, the clock stops ticking on the 14 days lower payment and is only reinstated once a response is sent.
