Dai Havard
Veterans’ Badge
Local MP Dai Havard is encouraging veterans who served in the First and Second World Wars to apply for the Veterans’ Lapel Badge in recognition of their status as HM Armed Forces Veterans.
Mr Havard said
“We owe our freedoms to the sacrifices of the men and women of our armed forces in the First and Second World Wars. So as we commemorate the end of World War ll, it is appropriate that all those who served should be recognised through the Veterans’ Badge. The Veterans’ Badge has been developed with veterans groups and can be worn as a lapel badge with civilian dress. “
The Veterans’ Badge applies to men and women who served in the UK Armed Forces in the First World War, and the Second World War between 3/9/1939 and 2/9/45. Other groups who served during the Second World War are also entitled to the badge include the Cyprus Regiment, Merchant Navy Seamen, Home Guard, and Polish Forces under UK command. War Widows and Widowers who are receiving War Widow/Widowers Pension can also qualify.
To apply for your Veterans’ Badge you can contact Dai Havard’s local constituency office on 01443 693 924 who will be happy to apply on your behalf, or alternatively you can ring the Veterans’ helpline free on 0800 169 22 77
