Lib Dems Gain Investors In People Award
Charles Kennedy, Leader of the Liberal Democrats, today received the Investors in People (IIP) certificate on behalf of the Liberal Democrat Federal Party.
Since the 2001 General Election the Liberal Democrats have been seeking to build the capacity and professionalism of their Party organisation. Improving the calibre, training and morale of Party staff has been an important part of preparing for the forthcoming General Election.
Commenting on the award, Mr Kennedy said:
"I am delighted by the progress we have made in developing our Party organisation. It has already paid dividends in the great successes we have had over the past two years in parliamentary by-elections and the continuing growth of our local government base.
"The IIP award recognises the investment we have made in our national staff and the commitment we have from them. With the Party more optimistic, more determined, and more professional than it has ever been we expect to have a very successful General Election Campaign."
Lord Chris Rennard, Liberal Democrat Chief Executive, added:
"The Liberal Democrats are renown for good local campaigning skills. Over the past few years we have been seeking to strengthen our national impact and effectiveness. Investing in our staff is one of the best ways to improve our national performance.
"The IIP award illustrates the high standards we have set ourselves. Our staff are up and running for the forthcoming General Election. We have planned and prepared well for it. Our morale is high and we are set to achieve our best expectations."
