Kennedy: Does The Prime Minister Consider Iraq To Be Heading Into A State Of Civil War?
At Prime Minister’s questions, Charles Kennedy asked the Prime Minister if he had heard the BBC’s John Simpson’s report about the escalating violence in Iraq, and whether he agreed with Prince Hassan’s assertion ‘that he considered Iraq to be heading into a state of civil war?’
Mr. Kennedy pressed the Prime Minister further on the topic of Iraq, asking ‘can he give us an estimate today before we head in to recess as to how long he believes a substantial British force will have to continue to be deployed in Iraq?’
