Kennedy: Updated List Of Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Party Appointments

Liberal Democrat leader Charles Kennedy MP is pleased to announce updated appointments within the Liberal Democrat parliamentary party and membership of Select Committees. These are part of an ongoing review process both of the structure and workings of the parliamentary party.

Mr Kennedy said: 'I am delighted to announce these new and updated parliamentary appointments including the chairmanships of important Select Committees. This is the largest Liberal Democrat presence in the House of Commons since 1923 and with these new appointments will be able to play an even greater role in challenging and scrutinising the Government over the course of this Parliament.'

Simon Hughes MP will shadow the Law Officers in the House of Commons.  Lord Thomas of Gresford, QC, will continue to shadow the office of Attorney General in the House of Lords.
