No Airport @ Cliffe: the PM is lobbied by MPs
Bob Marshall-Andrews said, "I am delighted to report that at lunchtime today, Wednesday 19 November, I was able to speak directly to both the Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Transport on my strongly felt concerns on the proposed airport at Cliffe.
"I was a member of a small delegation of MPs who met up with Tony Blair and Alistair Darling to discuss matters relating to the Government's consultation paper on The Future Development of Air Transport in the South-East. The lobby was timed to coincide with ministers making crucial decisions in advance of publication of the Government's Aviation White Paper.
"Speaking directly to the Prime Minister I relayed the passionate pleas from the people directly affected by the proposal and said that the development of Cliffe Airport would be an ecological and environmental disaster."
