BOB MARSHALL-ANDREWS PRESSES MINSTER TO RE-THINK THE CLOSURE OF REMPLOY'S ROCHESTER WORKS
On Tuesday 27 November, Bob had a long meeting with Peter Hain, the Cabinet Minister with responsibility for Remploy in order to press the case for the Medway factory, located by Rochester Airport, to remain open.
He said, “The Remploy factory for disabled people is far more than a production unit creating a profit. It is a family of workers, all of who have disabilities and whose lives are greatly enriched by their employment. To close this factory would blight the lives of its workers after an outstanding record of achievement”.
