Coventry MPs, Bob Ainsworth and Jim Cunningham are meeting with the Chief Fire Officer in London on Monday 17 January, at 3:30pm to discuss proposed cut backs.
Bob Ainsworth arranged this meeting following discussions with the staff of Foleshill Fire Station last Friday. During this meeting Bob heard a well argued case to retain the current level of cover. They showed that cut backs were being proposed in Coventry despite the fact that Coventry was busier over a period of years than some of the stations where there were to be no cut backs despite the fact that because of Coventry’s geography there is less availability of out of area engines cover in Coventry at times of need.
Bob Ainsworth said:
“I was very concerned about what I heard in last Friday’s meeting and I am therefore pleased that I will have the opportunity to discuss these issues further with the Chief Fire Officer.”
