Coventry North East MP, Bob Ainsworth is one of 10 celebrities participating in a Charity Baby Lifeline Celebrity Fitness challenge. The challenge, which commenced on 9th February and finishes on 16th April, will consist of 10 weeks of personal health and fitness coaching in order to raise (and hopefully lose pounds) and increase awareness of the Baby Lifeline £1 million UK Challenge.
Bob Ainsworth will be undertaking 2-3 hours per week, both in London and Coventry, of personal health and fitness coaching over the next 10 weeks to raise money, increase awareness of the Baby Lifeline’s £1 million UK Challenge and attain personal fitness goals (at the request of his wife).
Baby Lifeline is the only UK National Mother and Baby Charity. It supports vital care for unborn babies, new born babies and their mothers through the provision of medical equipment, training and research programmes for doctors, midwives and other associated health professionals.
The £1 million UK Baby Lifeline Challenge is in response to so many requests made to Baby Lifeline from maternity units nation-wide. This project is to raise the funds needed for all excellent medical projects that will play a part in the care needed in pregnancy and birth.
Bob Ainsworth said;
“My reasons for participating in this challenge are two-fold. My first and main reason is to help raise additional money to help progress and safeguard the vitally important work undertaken by Baby Lifeline. The second is the promotion of my own health and fitness, which as an overweight 51 year old granddad is in need of some attention. I am currently down from 15st 8oz before Christmas to 14st 12oz and plan to get down to 13st in the next 10 weeks”.
