Miss Anne McIntosh, MP for the Vale of York has shown her support for the Environment Agency’s major public awareness event they are holding, on Tuesday 18th March, to highlight their free flood warning service.
Miss McIntosh said “I am very disappointed not to be able to attend the event and show my support in person, but I would like to congratulate the Environment Agency for their initiative. A 40% take-up of their free flood warning service is incredibly low, especially in areas with such a high flood risk as Thirsk. Therefore anything that can be done to help local residents be more prepared for flooding and benefit from the great service that the Environment Agency offers is crucial”
