Dear Resident
Many people are concerned about the planning application reference P1599.05 received by Havering Council for a meat rendering plant in Folkes Lane. They are worried about the adverse impact on the local environment, including airborne grease and obnoxious smells that could emanate from such a plant.
Here are answers to some of the most continuously asked questions.
Yours sincerely,
Angela Watkinson MP.
Q. What am I doing about it?
A. (1) I have contacted Havering Council’s Planning and Environmental Health Officers for detailed information on the application. (2) I have responded to the many letters and e-mails from individual constituents (3) I have passed on all objections to the council, with my full support.
Q. Could a decision be made “behind closed doors”?
A. No. I have been assured by the Leader of Havering Council that this application will decided by the Regulatory Service Committee, who will be informed of the number and nature of the objections received.
Q. Will a decision on the application be made on the 22nd September?
A. NO. A date will be set for the application to be considered at a future meeting of the Regulatory Services Committee.
