65,000th qualification celebrated by The Chartered Institute of Marketing
London - 02 December 2005 - The Chartered Institute of Marketing is celebrating its 65,000th qualification to be rewarded since 1911 in the UK. To mark the occasion, the 65,000th student, Ana Chacon , visited the Institute for a special presentation from the Chief Executive, Christine Cryne.
"Getting my Certificate in Marketing has been a real step forward for my career" comments Ana, who's a resident of West London "The Chartered Institute of Marketing's qualification is an excellent route to fast track my marketing ambitions. It is highly prized in the corporate world and I have already started searching for suitable work. I was pleasantly surprised when I was named the 65,000th student and am touched by all the attention."
"This is a symbolic milestone for The Chartered Institute of Marketing." remarked Christine "Ever since we first started training and offering qualifications, the profession of marketing has evolved significantly. There is now more awareness with regards to the role the marketer plays in the business game. Today I feel justly proud of all the hard work performed by everyone who has ever worked with us since we first started out nearly a 100 years ago."
During her visit, Ana had lunch with Christine and was surprised to learn that she was being reimbursed for her previous year's membership as a special gesture. She was also provided with complementary book tokens. With the Certificate under her belt, Ana is currently actively seeking a new position in marketing. Ana, who is fluent in Spanish, adds "My Chartered Institute of Marketing Certificate has given me a whole new inspiration and I have now started working towards obtaining a Diploma in Marketing."
