CIM Scotland supports Young Outstanding Marketer Award

CIM Scotland supported the creation of a new award at the Edinburgh Junior Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Ceremony held at the Roxburgh Hotel in Edinburgh.  Scotland’s First Minister, The Right Honourable Jack McConnell, MSP attended the Gala event, which recognises young peoples outstanding achievements.

Douglas Vinton, Chairman CIM Scotland, formed part of the judging panel and along with the First Minister, presented Grant Reilly of Money Advice Scotland the Outstanding Marketers Award.  Grant was selected from a list of worthy nominees for his work in raising public awareness of people in debt.   A significant part of this awareness campaign was a “Shark Drive” at Deep Sea World, which Grant organised and participated in to help highlight the dangers of dealing with “Loan Sharks”.

Douglas Vinton commenting on the Awards Ceremony said  “CIM Scotland was delighted to sponsoring the Outstanding Marketer Award  and support EJCC with this prestigious event.  Supporting this event is very much part of our strategy for raising awareness of the importance of marketing to all manner of organisations from both the public and private sectors.  As the worlds leading and biggest professional marketing body it is only fitting that we recognise and reward the activities of our young marketers.”

Other award winners on the evening included Olympic Cyclist, Chris Hoy who was recognised in “The Personal Improvement and Achievement” category.
