Title: The new vision for social care

In April 2004 health minister Stephen Ladyman announced that he wanted to develop a new vision for social care. The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) was asked to gather views on the subject through a questionnaire.

Title: criminal records bureau disclosures on care home, domiciliary care agencies and nurses agencies staff
Published: 5 March 2004
In 2003 the Government undertook to look again at the regulations requiring Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Disclosures for people working in care homes, or for domiciliary care agencies and nurses agencies and consider amending them to allow staff to start work before satisfactory completion of a CRB disclosure.

Futurebuilders is a one-off £125 million investment fund, over the three years of Spending Review 2002, specifically to assist voluntary and community sector providing organisations in their public service work. This consultation document seeks views on proposals for the use of the fund.

This publication outlines the case for changes to the way people are supported when moving on to incapacity benefits to help fulfil the aspirations most have to find work. It also covers the main changes the Department would like to pilot and informs readers how to provide feedback.

Title: Equality and Diversity: Making it happen
Published: 23 October 2002
The Directives will tackle discrimination in employment and training on the grounds of sexual orientation and religion (by December 2003) and age (by December 2006). There will also be small, technical changes to existing law on race and disability. They intend to make equality legislation as coherent and easy to use as possible.
