MP concerned over partying in the parks

During a debate yesterday on the use of the Royal Parks, Tory MP Mark Field was quick to put on record his appreciation of electronic duo the Chemical Brothers.
Speaking in Westminster Hall, the Cities of London and Westminster MP was highlighting fears over the "creeping commercialisation" of Hyde Park and increased complaints from nearby residents about noise pollution following major music events.
Responding to the debate, tourism minister John Penrose revealed that the Black Eyed Peas and the Chemical Brothers both "excited a fair number of complaints".
Keen to assure colleagues of his musical taste, Field intervened: "May I just put it on record that I am a keen fan of the Chemical Brothers?
"However, I prefer listening to them in my living room, rather than with many tens of thousands of my constituents at the same time."
The MP has an eclectic taste in music. In 2006 as part of a British Library survey of MPs' favourite albums, Field chose It's Better to Travel, by 1980s act Swing Out Sister.
Commenting at the time, he explained: "It brings back wonderful memories of my undergraduate days in the mid-to-late 1980s. It still brings me out in goose pimples and smiles."
Perhaps Desert Island Discs should get in touch...
